Women Fishing

These are the ladies of fishing, and today their numbers have soared. It wasn’t that many years ago, that you didn’t see many women fishing.

These are the ladies of fishing, and today their numbers have soared. It wasn’t that many years ago, that you didn’t see many women fishing. What was once thought of as a mens outdoor sport, is now being taken up by women all over the world. In Louisiana, there is a lady by the name of Wanda Stewart, who in my mind is already a Fishing Legend, that is doing so much to help get women into fishing. And she has done a fantastic job working with the ladies. Some may have fallen on tough times and just don’t have anything to do. Wanda has helped these women regain confidence and stability in their lives. If I’m not mistaken, some of these women have gone on to the professional fishing circuit. The way I Iook at it, everybody that wants to fish, should be able to. I have a love and passion for fishing and men, women and children should all be able to fish. Being as I fished tournaments years ago, I can only say that I wouldnt want to have to fish against some of these women! They have made their mark in the fishing world and I’m sure many are on their way to becoming fishing legends. One day, Wanda and I will get to fish together and if we catch fish or not, I know it will be a memorable trip and my trip will be made, when I shake her hand and meet this true fishing legend! You are a great woman and keep up the good work. Capt. Mike Fossati
