Where do I start about Wanda Stewart? She absolutely changed my life. I live in Ohio and have been trying to figure out how to start up a women’s fishing group for some time. I fish in both Ohio and Florida and always thought more women should learn to fish. So I reached out to a few organizations to see if they’d be interested in helping me or at least pointing me in the right direction. All of them had either not responded or told me they were unwilling to help. I was about to lose hope and then I found sisterhoodfishing.com and sent a message through Facebook messenger. Wanda immediately replied and asked if I could call her the next day. I was absolutely shocked. Well, that was exactly a month ago today. I now have a website on sisterhoodfishing.com, a Facebook business page for my group, NEO Fish N’ Chicks, with 100 followers, and sponsors for tackle, fishing equipment, charters and clothing. Within the first two weeks, I was on a national podcast and the ‘Fishing in Florida Radio Show” with Carolyn Stash. Wanda brought me into her groups and welcomed me with open arms. The direction, guidance, advice, and business and fishing knowledge she is willing to share is second to none. She has taken the guesswork out of all of it and provides ongoing mentorship. I am looking forward to working with her as I grow and seeing where all of this takes us! I am so thankful I found sisterhoodfishing.com and decided to message Wanda. Anyone would be foolish to pass up building a business and personal relationship with her for a million reasons. She’s the best at what she does!

I had the pleasure of befriending Miss Wanda many years ago.  To me she appeared to be a lovely person and as passionate about her fishing as she is life.

As a fellow fisherman I am in awe of how Ms. Wanda Stewart has taken the bull by the horns and ran with it, what I mean by that is this lady has brought life back to the female sector of fishing,

Over the past 40 or so years women fisher people were on the decline  but Ms. Wanda has brought new life to that, I personally want to thank you for that as you remind me of the passion my mother once had, my mom taught me everything I know about fishing including fileting,  thank you Ms. Wanda Stewart,

Sincerely Chip Clement

I met Wanda about seven years ago, and in that short time, we accomplished numerous adventures.

I have acorns2oaks tutoring and she helped me to start a fishing program for kids and their families.  We did a VIP program for our parents. She taught my granddaughter to fish and that you always kiss your first fish!😂.  She has been such an encourager to get all ages involved in fishing.  Looking forward to many more adventures.

I had the opportunity to meet Wanda thru one of my lady angler friends. I followed her online for a while, seeing her passion for fishing, and promoting individuals in all aspects of the fishing community. Then, I reached out and asked for recommendations on a place to stay, whom to charter, and just general knowledge for fishing in Louisiana.  Couldn’t have been more pleased with the guidance and recommendations she gave.  On top of that, had the opportunity to enjoy part of my vacation with her and Jerry.  It was a Cajun good time.

Thank you for who you are and all you do.

I met Wanda years ago and as a new angler. She was there for me when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and helped me market Atlastrax, my GPS tracking company, and my Pink Ladies Fishing Team.  Since my diagnosis, I started the Pink Ladies Cancer Foundation, where we take tax-deductible donations to help others and again Wanda was there for me to help inspire, promote and be my friend.  I cant wait to see you again at Icast in Orlando in July.

From promoting her home state of Louisiana and the great fishing it provides, to fishing guides and fishing products, Wanda covers it all. Getting more women involved in the sport of fishing and teaching them through seminars, social media and other platforms available on the internet has made a huge difference in gaining recognition for females trying to find their niche in the outdoor industry.

What Wanda has learned and achieved in Promotional Advertising as well as implemented into her web designs and landing pages has been pretty impressive. Her contacts in the Out Door industry have opened doors for my business as well as my charity organization.

Having Wanda Stewart promote my business is a no-brainer and it is cost-effective for everyone.

Thank you, Wanda

When I think about fishing in Lousiana and where I first started Wanda Stewart is the first thing that comes to mind. She was the first to reach out to me and is what I consider the ambassador to fishing in Lousiana. Her love for Lousiana and this sportsman’s paradise is like no one else. She spends countless days and nights supporting not only women and children in fishing, but all of the charter captains and businesses in the fishing industry in multiple states. Integrity, honesty, and loyalty are the top 3 most important things to me. She is all of this and so much more. I can’t thank her enough for her words of encouragement on the professional tournaments series and continued support of putting women on the water.

Oh, where to start … first and foremost … Miss Wanda …  such an amazing friend, fisherwoman, business woman, promoter and just all around cheerleader for all lady anglers.  She inspires me daily with her excitement about fishing and her generosity is beyond compare.  I just want to tell yall a little bit about myself and how Wanda has encouraged me.  My mom was diagnosed with ALS in August 2022 and since then I have been spending 85% of my time with she and my dad in east Texas.  Wanda had the idea for me to start a journal to kind of think about things that make me happy while I am away from home.   Thank you Wanda for giving me the idea to write all this down and share with yall … My mom is holding her own and that is great news, but I appreciate any prayers yall want to send her way …

This is my fishing story …

I went fishing for the first time in my life when I was about 6 or 7.  My grandfather,  Big Daddy is what we called him.  He was a top-notch, A#1 fisherman.  He lived in Quinlan, TX.  We always fished on Lake Tawokoni.  We would leave out about 5 a.m.  He would tie our rods to the boat with crab string so we wouldn’t accidentally lose them.  Now in Quinlan. Tx there is not too much shrimp to fish with.  We would stop at the bait store and get a box of TV bait shrimp.  We hit the water, got to one of his special “honey holes”, he cast the line out in the water for me and told me to sit there and wait.  It wasn’t about 15 seconds til I got my very first tug … I was squealing with delight.  He said “jerk it baby, you gonna get him!”.

He was right.  I reeled in about a 2 lb catfish.  From that point on I was hooked.  I looked forward to my fishing trips with my Big Daddy.  He taught me so much.  Big Daddy passed away in 1995.  After that my fishing trips with friends were few and far between. I had 3 kids and a career and not a lot of time on my hands.  Time passed, my kids grew up and in 2016 I relocated to Carlyss, Louisiana, near Lake Charles.   I knew nobody here except my significant other, Greg.  We shared a love for fishing.  The first time we went fishing I asked him “Are we going to stop at the bait shop and get a box of TV bait shrimp?”.  After he picked himself up off of the floor from laughter he said “Um … NO.  were gonna go down to Holly Beach Seafood and get some bait shrimp.”  So off we went … yall … these shrimp looked like something I would take home and cook and enjoy.  I was like my goodness if this is bait shrimp I cant wait to see what kind of shrimp we are gonna use to cook with.  At this point, I knew I loved Louisiana even more.  We got the boat in the water and away we went out into the marsh.  My first time to ever be in the marsh.  I didnt even know what a marsh was.  I loved everything about it.  The way it looked was beautiful to my eyes, but the way it smelled … oh it just smelled like nature and heaven combined.  Now remember, in my lifetime the only fish Ive ever fished for is catfish.  When I cast out into that water I had no idea that my fishing life would never be the same.  I had so many firsts that day.  I saw my first alligator.  It was just cruisin along down the canal.  I saw my first mullet jumping up out of the water like little pieces of popcorn flying around. I saw my first sheephead with their human looking teeth.  I caugh a stingray.  I had no idea what I had snagged, I just knew that I’d never fought so hard to get something up close enough to the boat just to see what it was, because I was scared that I had caught Jaws!  We caught everything that day.  That was the day I caught my very first red fish.  What a rush.  I fought with that fish for what seemed like hours.  He felt different than that stingray.  He felt different from a catfish.  He felt different from a bass.  I remember getting chill bumps (in August in Southwest Louisiana) when I saw that beautiful fish rolling around on the top of the water as I got him close to the boat.  Since then I have had 100s of trips out into that beautiful marsh and I love fishing with Greg and whoever else tags along with us.  Redfish are my all time favorite to catch.  I also have fallen in love with crabbing.  I mean if you’re out in the marsh fishing, you might as well have 6 or 7 pieces of well baited crab string hanging over the sides of the boat.  Right??? A couple dozen crabs never hurt anyone!!!

I guess what Im trying to tell everyone is that even though I was born and raised in north central Texas … I got down here as quick as I could to catch all the wonderful creatures in these Louisiana waterways!!!  If you asked me every day “Hey Lori, what you wanna do today?”  my answer will always be “We goin fishin yall!”

I thank God every day for giving me the life I have.  I have so much to be thankful for, and fishing is definitely one of God’s many blessings for me.
